Fromagerie d'Austerlitz cheese shop

For his Fromagerie d'Austerlitz in Lyon, France, manager Jérémy Richard needed a customized, highly flexible weighing solution for the cheese counter. The equipment needed to be easily adaptable to new conditions after the shop was renovated. With its modular design, the K-Class Flex PC scale was the perfect solution.

hen Jérémy Richard buys cheese, the right variety must be available for all the customers of his cheese boutique. The manager of the Fromagerie d'Austerlitz in Lyon is personally committed to providing expert advice and listening to and fulfilling the needs of his customers. He sources his high quality products from regional and foreign wholesalers, affineurs and farmers. Whether hard or soft cheese, made from raw or pasteurized milk, with blue mold or truffles, he personally tests each variety for quality. The presentation also has to be right. Artfully arranged, the Fromagerie d'Austerlitz's cheeses are a delight not only in the shop, but also at festive occasions, where elaborate cheese platters are created. All this requires a weighing system that the sales team can rely on at all times.

Extensive experience with Bizerba

When Jérémy Richard took over the fromagerie from his predecessor Didier Galland in April 2020, the question of the best partner for his technical equipment was quickly answered. Jérémy has been a cheesemaker for ten years and has gained a lot of experience with Bizerba scales during this time. Although the models have changed, each scale has always met his needs. Jérémy also had fond memories of the high quality of Bizerba products and the company's fast, reliable service. And so he sought the advice of sales representative Christophe Bessodes from the Bizerba Small Retail Team.

Modular weighing system as the perfect solution

The requirements for the right weighing solution were not ordinary. Jérémy needed equipment that could be perfectly integrated into his counter, but the system also had to be modular. This is because Jérémy has plans to remodel his new cheese boutique and he wants his scales to be able to adapt to the changes. The Bizerba technical team successfully solved this task. The 12" swivel monitors of the K-Class Flex PC scales - Jérémy is 1.90 m tall and one of his employees is 1.60 m tall - were attached to the display cases and the scales were mounted on the counter, with great care taken to ensure that the cables were laid inconspicuously. In the end, everything was done to Jérémy Richard's satisfaction. Let the renovation begin!

A scale as a statement piece
Tea is a high-quality product where every gram counts. You might think that a specialist shop like Helmut Volkmann's would therefore rely on state-of-the-art digital weighing technology. Far from it! Volkmann trusts his old Bizerba tilt scale, which not only works as precisely and reliably as a Swiss watch, but is also part of his company philosophy.
