The PARCEL+POST EXPO is a central platform for us to present our logistics solutions to a broad professional audience. As Gerd Kammerer, Director Global Industry Products & Markets at Bizerba, emphasizes, our collaboration with Bluhm Weber allows us to offer comprehensive solutions that meet the requirements of the new postal law. 'This trade show gives us the opportunity to strengthen our position as an innovative provider of logistics technologies and to establish valuable contacts.”

New Solutions for Forward-Looking Challenges

Bizerba has recognized the new regulatory requirements early on and will showcase a tailored solution at the trade show that responds to the amendment of the German Postal Act passed in June 2024. Starting in 2025, packages over 10 kg and 20 kg will require labeling, and packages over 20 kg may only be transported with aids. Bizerba will present a solution that enables both weighing and labeling of packages in a single process.

In this context, Bizerba collaborates with Bluhm Weber, a leading provider of labeling technologies. This partnership supports the solution aimed at meeting the legal requirements. Bluhm Weber provides the expertise for efficient labeling, while Bizerba focuses on weighing the packages.

Fred Köhler, Managing Director of the Business Unit Industry at Bizerba, states: "Our new solutions reflect our commitment to developing practical technologies that meet increasing demands. In collaboration with strong partners, we leverage joint expertise to offer comprehensive solutions. This is an important step to further strengthen and expand our market position."

Additional Exhibits and Innovative Solutions

In addition to the presented solution, Bizerba will showcase other significant exhibits at PARCEL+POST EXPO 2024. Various types of labels known for their high quality and reliability will also be presented, enabling precise and durable labeling that meets the requirements of modern logistics processes. These labels are versatile and offer exceptional resistance to external influences, making them particularly suitable for demanding logistics applications.

Another highlight at the booth is Bizerba's proven ITC-S2 postal scale, valued for its reliability and precision in weighing packages. With its robust construction and diverse applications, the ITC-S2 is an ideal solution for postal and courier services that prioritize accuracy and efficiency.

Global fight against food waste
According to studies, up to one third of all food produced worldwide ends up as waste each year. This alarming figure is a growing concern not only for consumers, but it is also climbing the agenda of both the media and policymakers – especially in light of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12.3, which calls for halving global food waste by 2030. One of the key levers in this effort is the deployment of modern technology across the entire value chain.
